Cultural Activity

Brahmananda Keshab Chandra College has a very rich cultural heritage where all the students, teachers and non-teaching staffs have always taken initiative to maintain this heritage. In this context, it is really heartening that every year different cultural competitions are organized in the college and Student Union plays the key role in this program. The inter-departmental competition includes several forms of performing arts namely, singing, recitation, drawings, extempore, debate, essays etc. and at the end of the session, college encourages the winners by awarding them mementos and books as a prize to recognize their achievement.
Apart from that a grand cultural event is organized annually, which is popularly known as college social. In this event too, all the students and teaching-non teachings staffs participate actively to welcome the fresher and it is a matter of great pride that our students used to show their spectacular performance every year. Interestingly, last year teachers also played a drama in front of the audience, named SWARGA-GULJAR. The performance of professional and renowned artists is also a part of this program. Moreover, some of our departments also arrange drama recitation by the enthusiastic students. To commemorate the great lives of our country, the cultural committee of the College very often organizes meaningful events that actually offers a moral source of inspiration to all of us.

Sports

An annual sports meet is held on the college ground every year with enthusiastic participation of college staff and students. The Students' Union plays a key role in this programme. Apart from this the Students' Union also organizes the Annual Games Competition (indoor & outdoor) viz. carom championship, chess championship, football tournament.

Magazine

College Magazine
The college publishes an annual magazine, 'Lekhamanjari' each year. It showcases the literary and artistic reflections of the students who contribute their essays, short stories, poems, travelogue and drawings. Teachers and non teaching staff of the college also contribute their thoughts to the magazine.

Wall Magazine
Students of various departments of the college regularly publish a wall magazine showcasing their own talents. Teachers pitch in to help edit the work. Some of the wall magazines are published under various names such as Pro-Chesta and Prayas among others.“Spandan”- another wall magazine is brought out by the Bengali department. The English department tries to publish the proceedings of their Annual Students’ Seminar every year.
The Department of Chemistry has formed a ‘Chem Club’ which launched a wall magazine called “W-alchemy” last year. The aim of this magazine is to create awareness about the fundamental facts of the subject with focus on the ways chemistry affects our lives.
